Vassilios Dotas holds a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degree from the School of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). He serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Agriculture at A.U.Th., specializing in Farm Animal Nutrition, and since 2025 he has been the Director of the Laboratory of Nutrition Physiology & Applied Farm Animal Nutrition. He has received scholarships and awards of distinction from the Greek Ministry of Education Scholarship (“IKY”) and the Research Committee of A.U.Th. He has published over 40 papers in reputable international scientific journals and more than 100 papers in Greek journals and in the proceedings of national and international scientific conferences. He has participated as a member of research teams in numerous research projects. Actively involved in teaching, he offers 8 undergraduate courses in animal nutrition. He is co-author of 4 books, guest editor of 5 special journal issues, and reviewer for several international scientific journals. His research interests include the dietary feed evaluation, the assessment of the energy value and nutrient availability of feeds, aromatic plants and their essential oils in farm animals’ nutrition, the production of functional foods through interventions in livestock nutrition, as well as the evaluation of the nutritive value, grazing capacity and stocking rate of pastures.
