Anastasios Tantsis is an associate professor of “Byzantine archeology and art with an emphasis on cuktural management” in the School of History and Archeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is an architect with a master’s degree and a doctorate in Byzantine Archaeology. He collaborated on projects for museums, cultural centers and urban rennovations with the office KATERINA TSIGARIDA ARCHITECTS. He worked in the departments of traditional settlements and listed buildings of the (former) Ministry of the Aegean (Islands). For two years he was an International Vistiting Scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. He has taught at the University of Thessaly and the University of Ioannina. His courses and research focus on issues of Byzantine archaeology, cultural management and museology. In addition to the School of History and Archaeology, he also teaches in the School of Architecture and in two interdepartmental postgraduate programs for cultural heritage protection at AUTH.
