Dr. Sofia Tsakalidou is an experienced educator, researcher, and the current Director of the 3rd Middle School of Mikra. With over two decades of professional experience spanning 44 public and private educational institutions, from primary to higher education, she has a comprehensive background in teaching and administration.
Her academic work is extensive, including teaching roles at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for undergraduate, postgraduate, and Lifelong Learning programs. Her research focuses on Language Didactics, special educational needs (particularly dyslexia), differentiated instruction, and the integration of Artificial Intelligence into education. Dr. Tsakalidou is a prolific author of monographs, book chapters, and numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals.
She is also an active contributor to the academic community, serving as a reviewer for international conferences and journals, supervising theses, and organizing scientific events. She is multilingual, with proficiency in English (C2), German (C2), and Russian (B2), and holds advanced certifications in digital skills (ECDL Expert, ICT B2).
She is a mother of four children.
