Sotirios D. Kalamaras is an Agronomist and Oenologist, graduate of the Department of Food Science and Technology of the Agricultural University of Athens, from which he graduated in 2007. He continued his studies in the same Department, where he received an MSc in Food Science and Technology and Human Nutrition in 2009. He then completed a second MSc at the Department of Agriculture of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Agricultural Engineering and Water Resources, in 2014. In 2020, he was awarded a PhD by the Department of Agriculture of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He currently serves as Assistant Professor at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the field of Ecology and Environmental Protection. He has teaching and research experience in areas related to ecology and environmental protection, animal production, management and valorisation of agricultural and animal waste, circular economy, microalgae production systems, the microenvironment of livestock buildings, as well as livestock facilities and their equipment. He has participated in more than twenty national and European research projects, gaining significant academic and applied experience. An indicative part of his research work is available here.
