Dr Victoria Samanidou is Full Professor and Director of the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry in the School of Chemistry of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Since 2022 she is also vice president of the School of Chemistry.

Her research interests focus on the development of sample preparation methods using sorptive extraction prior to chromatographic analysis in accordance to green chemistry demands.

She has co-authored 219 original research articles in peer reviewed journals and 68 reviews, 88 editorials/in view/opinions/commentaries and 61 chapters in scientific books (h-index 46, Scopus Author ID 7003896015, 7126 citations. She is editorial board member of more than 31 scientific journals and guest editor in more than 32 special issues. She has peer reviewed more than 849 manuscripts for 174 scientific journals.

In 2023 she was included in the Power List 2023 which is created in the spirit of the journal’s recent 10-year anniversary of The Analytical Scientist Magazine and includes, nominees who were assessed for their excellence and impact over the past decade – across four categories: Innovators and Trailblazers, Leaders and Advocates, Connectors and Interdisciplinarians, and Mentors and Educators. The list is created of 100 scientists (25 per category). In this list, she was listed in the category: Mentors and Educators.

She is also vice president of the Committee of Ethics in the Research Committee of The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
