Short CV Presentation

Dr. Petros Tsioras is a tenured Assistant Professor of Forest Utilization and Head of the Division of Forest Products Harvesting and Technology. He teaches courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has supervised numerous diploma theses for the degree of the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment (Integrated Master’s), as well as several Master’s and PhD dissertations.

At the international level, he has participated in national and international competitive research projects (e.g., Thales, DeSurvey – FP6, and PindosLife – Life+), as well as in COST Actions FP1301, CA15226, CA19128, CA21115, and CA23135, serving in various roles (e.g., proposal team member, working group coordinator, and Grant Awarding Coordinator). He has also served as an evaluator of research proposals.

Dr. Tsioras has been invited as Guest Editor for special issues in prestigious international journals, including (a) Forests (MDPI) — “The Influence of Mechanized Timber Harvesting on Soils or Stands,” and (b) International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (MDPI) — “Improving Sustainability of Forest Operations.”

He serves on the Editorial Board of the international scientific journals International Journal of Forest Engineering, Drewno, Annals of Forest Research, and Frontiers in Forests and Global Change. He is also a reviewer for numerous high-impact international journals and has published more than 120 scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals with impact factors, as well as in international and national conference proceedings, book chapters, and other international scientific publications.
