Μr. Moschos Vogiatzis has over 26 years professional experience in public administration and program management in the fields of cadastre development, land tenure and administration, forestry, and nature protection, working on earth observation and geospatial data. He majored in Forestry and Natural Environment at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (1990) and obtained his M.Sc. degree in Forest Resources and Conservation at the University of Florida, USA (1995). In 1997, he was appointed as GIS Specialist at ARCTUROS (NGO) dealing with digital mapping of wildlife habitats across Greece. In 1998, he was recruited as Forestry Supervisor by  HELLENIC CADASTRE the leading government agency for cadastre development and operations, and mapping services in Greece. In 2010, he took over the newly established Forest Mapping & Natural Environment Directorate and has designed and delivered complex programs and projects, such as cadastral forest mapping, mapping of Natura2000 sites, land use/land cover monitoring (Copernicus) at the national level, having a portfolio of more than €100M. Up to 2020, he completed cadastral Forest Maps at the national level and lead the efforts for web-based geospatial forestlands services to the government and community as well. In 2023, he obtained his PhD degree in sattelite-based assessment and monitoring of land use/land cover from University of Thessaly, Greece. In 2024, he elected assistant professor on land surveying and forest cadastre at the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Mr. Vogiatzis has been national representative to European Environmental Agency for Copernicus Land Cover program (2013-2024) and member of IUFRO International Council (2014-2019).
