Magdalini Chatzikamari is currently serving as Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Department of Food Science and Technology, School of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Environment, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

She received a B.Sc. (1991) with specialization in Agricultural Industries – Food Science and Technology from the Faculty of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and a M.Sc. (1998) and a Ph.D. (2008) degree with specialization in Food Microbiology from the same Department.

She is working in the above-mentioned Laboratory since 1991, initially with fixed term employment contracts participating in research projects (5 years), following with indefinite employment contracts (3 years) and later on as a permanent staff.

Her duties are the preparation and co-teaching of the laboratory exercises in 5 undergraduate courses, co-teaching in 5 undergraduate and 2 postgraduate courses, the supervision of the graduate dissertations, the support of post graduate and PhD students in their thesis and participation in research programs (totally 15).

Her interests are the microbial study of traditional fermented products (mainly dairy, sourdough, wine, fruits etc.), the isolation and classification of microorganisms with classic and modern methods (SDS-PAGE, RAPD-PCR etc.), the study of their technological and probiotic properties and the antimicrobial activities of natural substances.

She has published 31 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 1 chapter in an English Book, 1 chapter in a Greek book, 3 proceedings in conferences.
