Mrs. Vasteli holds a Bachelor degree in Archaeology and History of Art from the department of History and Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Thessaloniki, Greece and a Master of Science degree in Protection, Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Monuments, granted by the Interdepartmental Program of Post Graduate Studies of the Faculty of Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since 1991, she serves as Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Department of History and Archaeology of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Mrs. Vasteli participates continuously as an Archaeologist and Supervisor at the excavations of the Archaeological Site and Archaeological Labs of Dion, Greece. At the same time, she has the direction of multiple excavation sectors in Dion, being responsible for the education of university students in field archaeology. Furthermore, she is actively engaged in the process of cataloguing, organizing the archive data of the excavations and takes part in the digital documentation of the archaeological finds. In addition, she participates in a variety of activities, run by the Archaeological Laboratories of Dion.
She has been scientific associate in many conferences, publications, archaeological exhibitions and in over 26 european and national research programs, which present the archaeological wealth of the site with the use of new groundbreaking methods and applications (Study and organization of the archaeological park of Dion, Alexander, Archeotool, Archatour, Olympos, Proreal, Orion, Archaeocop, Surgical Excavation, Restoration of Dionysos’ mosaic at Dion and its public display, Testimonies of religious, political and social life of Dion-Digital editing and contextual analysis of the inscribed monuments etc.).
