Short CV Presentation

Katerina (Aikaterini) Karamanoli is a Professor of Plant Stress Physiology in the School of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) . She is a graduate of the School of Agriculture, AUTH from which she received her PhD in Plant Physiology. She has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the College of Natural Resources, UC, Berkeley, USA and at the Paris London University of Salzburg, Austria, on issues related to plant interactions with other organisms, particularly with epiphytic bacteria and spider mites, as well as on the production of secondary metabolites by plants as part of their defense mechanisms. Her current research interests include (a) plant interactions mainly with bacteria and herbivores in the phylosphere and rhizosphere, (b) physiological responses and metabolic regulation under stress, (c) impact of biostimulants on plant growth and defense responses, and (d) analysis and assessment of plant VOCs and other secondary metabolites.  She has published 62 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals (SCI), with more than 2000 citations (h-factor 28, scopus). She has participated in more than 15 competitively funded research projects as a principal investigator or as a member of the research team.
