Born (1973) and graduate of the Department of Geology, AUTH. (1995). MSc in Mineral Resources and Environment, School of Geology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1998). Diploma of Researcher of the Ministry for the Environment, Physical Planning and Public Works (1999) for Categories 20 (Geological, Hydrogeological and Geophysical Studies and Surveys) and 27 (Environmental Studies). Doctor of Geology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2001). He has received 4 scholarships and 2 awards. He has 3 national patents and participated in more than 50 research programs. He has participated in more than 50 conferences-symposia-workshops, 10 of which participated in their organization. He has more than 250 published paper of which 103 in international journals and has been a reviewer in 11 international journals. He is a full member of 4 scientific companies-chambers-associations and a founding member of 1 scientific company. He has written more than 100 scientific or technical reports. His research focuses mainly on materials characterization, interactions of liquids with solid materials (rocks and of anthropogenic origin), industrial minerals and rocks with emphasis on the applications and uses of limestones, marbles, clay minerals and rocks, zeolitic rocks and the examination of mineral ore deposits, the evaluation of harmful materials for public health (asbestos, suspended particulates, etc.), the preparation of modern materials with bioactive behavior, the examination of archaeological shells, the study of the geotechnical behavior of soils and rocks.
