Ioanna Anagnostou is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff of the Department of History and Archaeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her scientific subject is Prehistoric Archaeology. She holds an M.A. degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität of Munich and Ph.D. from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She attended Archaeometry Seminars at the Doerner – Institut of the Alte Pinakothek in Munich and History of Architecture Seminars at the Technical University of Munich. She participated in European Union Training Courses on Design, Management and Communication of projects
regarding culture as well as an intensive training course on Archaeological Site Management at Oxford Brookes University.
From 1988 on she participated in excavations carried out by the AUTH (Toumba, Arkadikos Drama, Dispilio a.o.) as scientific collaborator, as trench supervisor, excavation administrator and students’ practice supervisor. She took part in more than twenty research projects and was responsible for the financial management of several communal and international projects. From 2006 to 2014 she was an administrative employee at the Department of History and Archaeology and at the Senate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
She is the author of several articles in collective volumes and presentations at international conferences. In the framework of lifelong education of employees of the Public Sector she has taught “Design and implementation of projects for the protection and management of cultural and natural resources.”
