Eleni Kalaitzi graduated from the School of German Language and Literature of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she received a scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) At the same institution, she completed her PhD thesis on “Functional-Pragmatic Discourse Analysis” and as an external collaborator at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels, focusing on “Functional Pragmatics” and “Metacognitive Processes”. She has received scholarships for academic training from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Germany (Humboldt University of Berlin) and from the Goethe-Institut e.V.
For the last 25 years, she has worked in public secondary education as a German language teacher, while additionally being employed in private education, working at language centers and Institutes of Vocational Training.
For more than a decade, she has coordinated numerous European Programs in Secondary Education and has served as the chairwoman of the committee and examiner for oral German production at the State Certificate of Language Proficiency (K.P.G.) for levels A/B/C. She has published monographs and articles in Greek and international scientific journals, participating as a speaker in conferences and symposia. She has also been a reviewer of papers in International Conferences for the Promotion of Educational Innovation.
