Short CV Presentation

As Head of Service Development Department at the IT Center of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), I oversee a staff team of 20 engineers, programmers and technicians. In a career of 25+ years in the field of IT, I have participated in the design of central services of AUTh and national higher ed services in Greece. My main areas are:

  • architecture of information systems
  • interconnection of databases, analysis and visualization of data
  • directory services, identity management and security
  • portals and content management
  • learning management systems
  • management of electronic documents
  • video conferencing, video streaming and messaging services

I am an active member of the Greek community of university IT staff and have participated in a number of national projects with the Greek Universities Network (GUNET) and the Greek NREN (GRNET). I participate in the respective European forums of Higher Ed IT (TERENA, GEANT, EUNIS).

My most recent work involves international collaborations on the European Student Card (ESC), Erasmus Without Paper (EWP), PhdHub, the EPICUR European University Alliance and UniverSIS, the open-source Student Information System for Greek HE institutions.
