Charalampos Lykidis is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Laboratory of Wood Technology at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He holds a PhD in Recycling of Wood-Based Panel Products (AUTh), for which he was awarded an Excellence and Innovation scholarship. He was also selected (among 180 European candidates) to present his research at the Young Researchers Forum in 2013, organized by COST – FTP.
From 2010 to 2018, he served as Head of the Laboratory of Anatomy and Wood Technology at the Forest Research Institute of Athens, Hellenic Agricultural Organization “Demeter.” He was an Assistant Professor (2018–2021) in the Department of Design and Technology of Wood and Furniture at the University of Thessaly.
Dr. Lykidis has published more than 60 scientific articles and one book chapter. He is a member of the Editorial Board for two international journals (International Wood Products Journal and Journal of Renewable Materials) and serves as a reviewer for over 40 internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals in his field.
He has supervised two PhD and four MSc dissertations and has extensive teaching experience at universities, technical institutions, and vocational training institutes. Additionally, he has served as a training coordinator for the Directorate-General for Health and Consumers of the European Commission. He has also been invited to lecture at two universities abroad (Mendel University in the Czech Republic and TEC in Costa Rica).
Dr. Lykidis is an active member of the European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST, European Union), participating in six COST Actions (E31, E49, FP0904, FP1303, FP1407, CA22155). He has been involved in more than 50 research projects, coordinating the majority of them.
