Charalampos Lykidis is an Assistant Professor and head of the Laboratory of Wood Technology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He holds a PhD in “Recycling of wood based panel products” (AUTh) for which he was awarded an Excellence and Innovation scholarship and was selected (among 180 Eupopean candidates) for presentation in the Young Researchers Forum of 2013 (organised by COST – FTP). He was (2010 – 2018) Head of the Lab of Anatomy and Wood Technology, (Forest Research Institute of Athens , Hellenic Agricultural Organization “Demeter”). He served as Assistant Professor (2018-2021) in the Department of Design and Technology of Wood and Furniture, University of Thessaly. He has published more than 60 scientific articles and 1 book chapter. He is an Member Editorial Board of 2 International Journals (International Wood Products Journal and Journal of Renewable Materials) and reviewer in more than 40 internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals in his field. She has supervised 2 PhD and 4 MSc dissertations. He has a extended teaching experience at Universities, Technical Institutions, Vocational Training Institutes etc and has been a training co-ordinator of the Directorate-General for Health and Consumers of the European Commission. Upon invitation, he has lectured at 2 Universities abroad (Mendel University – Czech Republic and TEC – Costa Rica). He is a member of the European Co-operation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST, European Union) with participation in 6 actions (COST Actions): E31, E49, FP0904, FP1303, FP1407, CA22155). He has participated in more than 50 research projects, coordinating most of them.
