Antonios Mouratidis was born in the Federal Republic of Germany in 1980. He received the graduate degrees in geology, in rural and surveying engineering, and in political science in 2003, 2010, and 2019, respectively, the master’s degree in geography and environment in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree in spaceborne remote sensing (with an emphasis on SAR) and geospatial technology applications in geomorphology in 2010, all from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
He was a Ph.D. student with Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS), Paris, France, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Consultant with the European Space Agency (ESA), as well as a Visiting Scholar with Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Thessaloniki. He is a member of the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites and the European Space Education Resource Office Greece Manager. He is a coauthor of more than 60 research papers in international journals and conferences. His research interests revolve around the applications of geospatial science and technology (Remote Sensing, GIS, and GNSS) in land applications as well as in education.
Dr. Mouratidis was a recipient of an award from the Academy of Athens in 2023 for his research work in the field of Geodesy.
