Short CV Presentation

Dr. Alizoti is a Professor in the field of Forest Genetics and Tree Improvement. She is instructing fourteen undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She supervised numerous theses for the Degree in Forestry (integrated master), as well as  M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses. Αt an Institutional level she serves as Vice-Chair of the School of Forestry and Natural Environment,  Coordinator of the Internal Evaluation Group and the Committee of Strategic Planning, and she is participating in 17 other committees of the School. At the international level Prof. Alizoti is acting as  Coordinator of the IUFRO WG 2.02.13 ‘Breeding and genetic resources of Mediterranean conifers’,  Deputy Coordinator of the IUFRO Task Force  ‘Strengthening Mediterranean Νursery Systems for Forest Reproductive Material Procurement to Adapt to the Effects of Climate Change’, National Delegate at the EFI – Euforgen (European Forest Genetic Resources Program), National Focal Point at the EUFGIS Project (European Forest Genetic Resources Program – GIS Database on in situ dynamic genetic conservation units). She acted as working group coordinator for two COST Action Projects (FP1202 and FP 1403) related to the conservation of marginal/peripheral populations of forest trees and the conservation and breeding of non-native tree species, and as across working groups coordinator for the species Pinus nigra in the Horizon 2020 ‘Gentree’ Project.   She is Guest Editor of the Forests journal (MDPI) issues: ‘Genomics and High-Throughput Phenotyping to Characterize Forest Genetic Resources for Conservation and Breeding’  and  ‘Molecular Genetics of Forest Trees and Applications in Breeding, Conservation and Management of Genetic Resources’.  She is also a Guest Editor of the ‘Frontiers and Global Change’ and ‘Frontiers in Planted Forests’ journals.  She participated in numerous European and National Competitive Research Projects and she is acting as reviewer  for twenty international scientific journals with I.F., related to her field of expertise. She has published numerous research papers in peer reviewed journal, book chapters, international special editions, conference papers and abstracts.
