Dr Apostolos Kapranas studied Agriculture at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (2000) and holds a Doctorate in Entomology from University of California, Riverside (2006). He has held numerous academic research and teaching positions including a ‘Marie Curie Fellowship’ in the University of Nottingham, UK (2011-2013), and postdoc appointments in National University of Ireland, Maynooth (2015-2015) and the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland (2016-2017). He served as Associate Researcher at Benaki Phytopathological Institute (2017-2021). He has participated in the implementation of 35 research projects, and he was PI in 9 competitive research programs included those funded by Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation-HFRI and Prima. He is member of editorial board of Bulletin of Entomological Research, Frontiers in Microbiology and Plant Science, Frontiers in Forests and Global Change και Entomologia Hellenica. He has also participated in the European Plant Protection Organization (EPPO) for biological control agents and other scientific networks (COST actions). He has co-authored 48 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals (google h = 23) and other book chapters and articles.
