Antonis Gardikiotis is a Professor of Social Psychology and Mass Media, Director of the Master’s Program in Communication, and Director of the Social Media Laboratory at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is a board member of the Center for Social Research and Decision Support at Aristotle University and a former co-coordinator of the Media and Technology Psychology Division of the Hellenic Psychological Society.  He serves as Associate Editor of Psychology: The Journal of the Hellenic Psychological Society and was previously a member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Social Psychology. He has been a Visiting Professor at the Department of Psychology, Claremont Graduate University, USA, and a Researcher at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institutes of Health, USA (2013-2014).  His academic background includes studies in Psychology (BSc, University of Crete), Communication (MSc, University of London, LSE, UK), Social Science Methodology (Postgraduate Diploma), and Social Psychology (PhD, Cardiff University, UK). He has published in academic journals such as the European Journal of Social Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, Social and Personality Psychology Compass, Media Psychology, Journal of Health Communication, Psychology of Music, Communications: The European Journal of Communication Research, among others.
