To 2006 ολοκλήρωσα τις βασικές μου σπουδες στο Τμήμα Γεωλογίας Α.Π.Θ. και έπειτα συνέχισα με τις μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές μου στην ειδίκευση «Τεκτονική και Στρωματογραφία» του ίδιου Τμήματος. Τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2008 ξεκίνησα τη διδακτορική διατριβή μου με τίτλο «Παλαιοντολογική και βιοστρωματογραφική μελέτη των Προβοσκιδωτών του Νεογενούς της Ελλάδος», την οποία υποστήριξα τον Φεβρουάριο του 2013 και ανακηρύχθηκα διδάκτορας του Τμήματος Γεωλογίας Α.Π.Θ.
Από το 2014 έως το 2024 πραγματοποίησα μεταδιδακτορική έρευνα στον Τομέα Παλαιοανθρωπολογίας (Τμήμα Γεωεπιστημών) του Πανεπιστημίου Tübingen στη Γερμανία στα πλαίσια ερευνητικών προγραμμάτων του Ευρωπαϊκού Συμβουλίου Έρευνας (ERC) και του Γερμανικού Ιδρύματος Ερευνών (DFG). Το 2025 ανακηρύχθηκα Υφηγητής (habilitation) του Πανεπιστημίου Tübingen με αντικείμενο την Παλαιοανθρωπολογία και την Παλαιοντολογία. Το ίδιο έτος έπεστρεψα στην Ελλάδα και υπήρξα μεταδιδακτορικός ερευνητής στο Τμήμα Γεωλογίας Α.Π.Θ. σε έργο που περιλάμβανε την ψηφιοποίηση των συλλογών του Μουσείου Γεωλογίας, Παλαιοντολογίας και Παλαιοανθρωπολογίας. Το 2026 εκλέχθηκα μέλος Εργαστηριακού Διδακτικού Προσωπικού (Ε.ΔΙ.Π.) στο Τμήμα Γεωλογίας Α.Π.Θ.
Όλα αυτά τα χρόνια, πραγματοποιώ έρευνα σε διεθνές επίπεδο στην Παλαιοντολογία θηλαστικών Νεογενούς και Τεταρτογενούς με έμφαση στην Ταξινομία, τη Βιοχρονολόγηση, τη Βιοστρωματογραφία, την Ταφονομία, την Παλαιοοικολογία και την Παλαιοβιογεωγραφία. Από το 2009 μέχρι και σήμερα έχω δημοσιεύσει περισσότερες από 60 (peer-review) εργασίες σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά και βιβλία. Επιπλέον έχω συμμετάσχει και ανακοινώσει εργασίες σε πολλά διεθνή συνέδρια στο εξωτερικό και στην Ελλάδα. Έχω επισκεφθεί ως ερευνητής πολλές συλλογές Μουσείων Φυσικής Ιστορίας και Πανεπιστήμιων της Ευρώπης (π.χ. Παρίσι, Βιέννη, Λονδίνο, Βουδαπέστη, Μόναχο).
Από το 2006, κατά τη διάρκεια των μεταπτυχιακών σπουδών μου και στη συνέχεια κατά τη διεξαγωγή του διδακτορικού μου στο Τμήμα Γεωλογίας Α.Π.Θ. συμμετείχα στη διδασκαλία των εργαστηριακών ασκήσεων των μαθημάτων «Παλαιοντολογία Σπονδυλωτών» και «Ιστορική Γεωλογία – Στρωματογραφία», ενώ από το 2017 μέχρι το 2024 είχα αυτόνομη ανάθεση της θεωρίας του μαθήματος «Εξέλιξη των Πρωτευόντων» και των εργαστηριακών ασκήσεων του μαθήματος «Εισαγωγή στην Εξέλιξη του Ανθρώπου» στο Τμήμα Γεωεπιστημών του Πανεπιστημίου Tübingen. Από το 2018 πραγματοποιώ διδασκαλία στο Δ.Π.Μ.Σ. Παλαιοντολογία – Γεωβιολογία και έχω υπάρξει Επιβλέπων, Μέλος Τριμελούς Επιτροπής ή Εξωτερικός Συνεργάτης σε πολλές διατριβές ειδίκευσης της κατεύθυνσης Μακροπαλαιοντολογίας .
Από το 2004 και έπειτα συμμετέχω διαρκώς σε παλαιοντολογικές ανασκαφές και επιφανειακές έρευνες σε διάφορες Νεογενείς και Τεταρτογενείς θέσεις και ιζηματογενείς λεκάνες της Ελλάδας (π.χ. κοιλάδα Αξιού, λεκάνη Μυγδονίας, λεκάνη Μεγαλόπολης) και έχω εκτενή εμπειρία στην ανασκαφή, συντήρηση και καταγραφή απολιθωμάτων. Τα τελευταία χρόνια συμμετέχω επιπλέον στην οργάνωση και επιστημονική επίβλεψη ανασκαφών.
